The trailer for Coolie, featuring Indian cinema legend Rajinikanth, is set to launch on August 2, 2025, as confirmed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
This will be the only trailer released before the film’s debut, a deliberate choice to build anticipation while preserving the storyline’s surprises for theater audiences, Kanagaraj explained in recent interviews.

Directed by Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie features a distinguished cast alongside Rajinikanth, including Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and a cameo by Aamir Khan.
The film marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth, a towering figure in Indian cinema, and Kanagaraj, whose reputation for blending intense action with nuanced drama has earned him critical acclaim.
Lokesh Kanagaraj has described Coolie as a cinematic experience that combines emotional storytelling with high-energy sequences, appealing to both fans and new viewers.
Production began in July 2024 in Chennai, with filming across diverse locations such as Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Bangkok, concluding in March 2025.
