He completed his schooling at Bt/Vantharumoolai M.M.V and later attended Chenkalady Central College, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. Growing up in Batticaloa, he developed an interest in media and entertainment from a young age.

Career

RJ Chandru started his professional journey after moving to Colombo. He was selected as a Radio Jockey for Sooriyan FM, a popular Tamil radio station in Sri Lanka, which marked the beginning of his successful career.

He became one of the recognizable faces of the channel and later advanced to the position of Senior Manager Programming at Sooriyan FM. In January 2020, he resigned from his radio job to focus on building a YouTube career with his wife Menaka.

The channel quickly gained massive popularity among Tamil audiences globally, especially in Tamil Nadu, India, becoming the top subscribed Tamil YouTube channel in Sri Lanka.
