Mutant Raghu, whose real name is Raghavendra S. Hondadakere, is an Indian celebrity known for being a powerlifter, strongman athlete, gym coach, and actor in Kannada films.

He founded Mutante Strength Gym in Bangalore and is famous for his exceptional strength and fitness expertise. He has also appeared on television shows Kwatle Kitchen and Bigg Boss Kannada 12.

Age & Earlier Life

Mutant Raghu is 38 years old and was born in 1986 in Bangalore, Karnataka. Before becoming famous for his strength and fitness, he worked as an artist in art and animation for 15 years.

He created graffiti and artwork that are displayed on the walls of his gym. After spending over a decade in the animation industry, he decided to change his career and focus completely on fitness and bodybuilding.

Raghavendra started competing in bodybuilding around 2003 and participated in about 22 competitions. His early titles included Mr. Bengaluru and Mr. Karnataka.

This career change proved to be the right decision, as he soon became recognized as one of the strongest men in India through his achievements in powerlifting and strongman competitions.

Family

Mutant Raghu is married to Greeshma Gowda, whose Instagram handle is prajvala.gowda24. Greeshma is involved in modeling and maintains excellent physical fitness. She was also the winner of the Suvarna Superstar Show.

Together, they have a son named Ronith who is 12 years old. Ronith follows in his father’s footsteps and started lifting weights at just five years old. He currently lifts 75 kg and is known as the youngest lifter in Karnataka. The family shares a strong passion for fitness and healthy living.

Career

Mutant Raghu is a four-time Strongman of India champion and a four-time National Champion in Powerlifting. He holds the Indian Record for a raw squat of 360 kg, showing his incredible strength.

He has won 14 international medals in competitions, including 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals. The Karnataka State Government awarded him the Kriida Ratna Award for his achievements in powerlifting.

Raghavendra is the founder and owner of Mutante Strength Gym in Bangalore. His training philosophy focuses on functional workouts using free weights and equipment like Atlas Stones and chains. He believes fitness is a lifestyle based on patience, dedication, and discipline.

During competitions, he consumes between 8,000 to 10,000 calories per day to maintain his strength and performance level.

Television Appearance

Mutant Raghu won the first season of Kwatle Kitchen, a popular Kannada reality cooking show that aired on Colors Kannada.

This victory helped him gain wider recognition beyond the fitness world. His success in the cooking show showed that he is not just a strong athlete but also has diverse talents.

The show introduced him to a larger audience and helped launch his career in entertainment and acting in the Kannada film industry.

In 2025, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 as a wildcard contestant. His entry into this popular reality show brought his fitness expertise and personality to a wider television audience across Karnataka and beyond. Mutant Raghu started his acting career with the film Raana in 2022. Since then, he has appeared in around 10 film projects in the Kannada film industry.

He has played major roles in films like Kranti, Garadi, and Kaatera. He has worked on upcoming films including Kantara: Chapter 1, Mudhol, and KD.

Raghavendra S. Hondadakere often plays villain roles in films, which makes use of his strong and impressive physical appearance. He has also worked as a consultant for famous actor Darshan, commonly known as DBoss, providing guidance on diet and exercise routines.
